| The Songwriter's Song Written by Raymond Lee Peltier and Michael Wilde ©2006 |
| As thoughts pass in these waking moments I dream myself to sleep; Emotions fill my mind with music My heart so gently weeps. From the visions flowing through me Peering at me from my bed; I hear "Get with the flow, it's the show of shows One that must not be mislead." So I sing a song for the songwriter who writes so much in vain. A song for the singer who don’t mind singing in the rain. A song for the musician trying to write that one great song. And a song for the listener without whom none of these can belong. Yet this is my dream A dream of reaching notoriety as strange as that may seem; Yes this is my song, the one I wrote in fun It's the song of the writer who has not yet begun. So I sing a song for the songwriter who writes so much in vain. A song for the singer who don't mind singing in the rain. A song for the musician trying to write that one great song. And a song for the listener without whom none of these can belong. As thoughts pass in these waking moments I dream myself to sleep. |
