| Memories Of My Mother Written by Raymond Lee Peltier ©1988 Published in the Literary Anthology Golden Wings Of Time |
| Through many years of memories, Brief moments stand apart; The memories of my mother, Are planted in my heart. I loved her so very much, For her sacrifice and love; Of what she did for others, And how God was glad above. She was of such great beauty, Her body so slim and tall; She had so many qualities, Of which were great and small. She was very tender and so very kind, Her beauty so sweet and fair; Her body flowing with many perfumes, Her fragrance filled the air. As a young boy who stood in the doorway, My heart so filled with song; Knowing not that this moment, Would be with me all life long. It was on a June morning, That I laid sleeping in my bed; And the Lord called my mother, To rest her sweet head. She's not here now, Nor will she ever be; But one day soon in glory land, Her face again I'll see. Yes, I have many years of memories, That are only brief moments apart; The fond memories of my mother, Will always be painted in my heart. |
