The Darkness Of Night

The darkness of night is like the sin in one's life,
It consumes and conceals the Truth and the Light;
The path is obscured, you can't find your way,
But it's there, if only you would start to pray.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light,
The One who takes darkness out of our sight;
He forgives and cleanses us from all of our sin,
In prayer we will find Him, it's the place to begin.

For darkness of the past there is but one remedy,
Only Christ can come, enlighten, and cause the blind to see;
Please don't shut Him out, don't turn from light of day,
He is our Hope, Creator, Friend, the Life, the Truth, the Way.

I know that You work all things out into good,
Even though I have not done as I should;
Please help me bring light into their darkness, where I've been,
So they may see You and know too, how to begin.

For darkness of the past there is but one remedy,
