My Son, Ray

Into this world came a son of mine,
Who I will always love until the end of time;
You make me happy and give me much joy,
And you bring me fond memories when I was a boy.

Your mother and I were proud that April day,
When we decided to give you my name Ray;
You looked handsome smiling from cheek to cheek,
And we couldn't wait to hear you speak.

Through the years there have been sadness and pain,
And many thoughts planted within your brain;
But son, there's one thing I want you to know,
That my love for you will never outgrow.

The years are going by very fast,
And soon my life on Earth will past;
But son, my prayer for you will always be,
That you will always keep me in your memory.
