About Songwriter Raymond Lee Peltier

MEET RAYMOND LEE PELTIER
Raymond Lee Peltier is a native of Evansville, Indiana and spent most of his youth in a small community called
Linton, Indiana. He graduated from Linton Stockton High School in 1971 and enlisted in the United States Air
Force the same year. Raymond earned his degree as a Paralegal and retired from the Air Force in July 1993 as a
Law Office Manager. Raymond states that his life experiences inspired him to become a songwriter.
If there's one thing that Raymond understands, it's the transforming work of Christ. One to whom grace
abounds, he is a testimony of the new life that is given to the sinner who repents and to the prodigal who
returns. "I was a dead man walking," he says of his life before Christ. Now Raymond is a new creation,
empowered to bring a message of hope, renewal, and faith through the writing of songs God has given him to
share with the world.
UNWANTED
From the very beginning, Raymond Lee Peltier's life has not been ordinary. Born to a mother who was only
16 years old and to a father who's past was not civilized, Raymond and his brother Rick endured many
sufferings during their childhood. Raymond was devastated by the death of his mother and at the age of 12,
Raymond and his brother were separated from their father. These circumstances sparked in Raymond a
certain insecurity that remains to this day. "I have always had a feeling of being abandoned, of not being
loved nor accepted. I came to a place where I really just wanted to give up on myself." This giving up was
what led Raymond to enlist in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He just wanted to get away and try to
see what life had to offer him away from family and friends. "As a child and through my teenage years, I had
no concept of who God was because I could not see Him in my daily life," he says.
REASON TO LIVE
Even though Raymond went to church on his own and while with friends during his teenage years, he did not
have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In spite of his separation from God He was drawing Himself
through the circumstances in his life. Raymond's first feeling of belonging came at age 19 when he met a
young lady from Lima, Peru' (South America) while stationed at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C.
After dating his fiancé for only three months, Raymond and his wife (Lully) got married in Alexandria,
Virginia. Strong Christian friends who were a witness to Raymond and his wife Lully, and led them to be
baptised into Christ, and with that new life, Raymond began to experience the fullness of what God had
planned for him. Over the next 34 years, Raymond retired from the Air Force, him and his wife has three
children, (Cristinita, Raymond Luis, and Mary) and they have four grandchildren (Crislyn, Caylor and Caison
Cole and Carson Ashbaugh).
MUSIC
For as long as Raymond can remember, music and songwriting has been a part of his life. Raymond's talents
were recognized at an early age when he began to sing solos in church. Raymond also became a gifted writer
after several of his poems were published in many anthology's and received numerous poet accolades. He
enjoys listening to most genres of music. Raymond's most recent success in his songwriting venture is when
several of his lyrics were published by HMG Nashville. All of his songs have received airplay across the
United States. His song "I Met Jesus Face To Face" debuted at # 80 on the Power Source Music Magazine
Country Christian Top 100 Chart; His song "Following Daddy's Steps" debuted at #60 and peaked at #19 on
Power Source Music Magazine Country Christian Top 100 Chart; His song "Spending Christmas With Jesus
Christ This Year" debuted at #58 on Power Source Music Magazine Country Christian Top 100 Chart; His
song "I'm Still With You" debuted at #96 and peaked at #12 on Power Source Music Magazine Country
Christian Top 100 Chart. Raymond is currently writing more lyrics for future release. Some of Raymond's
greatest musical influences are Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, Cristy Lane, Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, Charlie
Pride, Bill Anderson, Bobby Vinton, Johnny Cash, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Randy Travis to name a
few.
MUSIC WITH MEANING AND DEDICATION
Most of Raymond's songwriting is dedicated to his mother Mary of blessed memory, who taught him the
difference between good intentions and good deeds and who would have been very proud of her oldest son
she helped created. To his wife, his best friend and colleague, (Lully), who he says is the most kindest, most
spiritual lady he has had the pleasure of being married to for more than 34 years; to his children Cristinita,
Raymond Luis, and Mary, his loyal fans and his greatest comfort. And to all of his wonderful grandchildren
who have blessed his life with their presence and gives him continuity and unending pleasure. Also,
Raymond gives credit for his success to his many brother's and sister's in Christ.
TRUTH CRIES OUT
After many years of writing, Raymond's heart still felt emptied because he longed to be a gifted songwriter.
Does he feel adequate to be the one bringing such a message through his writings? "I still feel like the trials are
so intense that I can't keep going. But God keeps nudging me, so I keep moving forward and not giving up. It
is his obedience to God and encouragement from fellow believers that has given Raymond the courage to
continue his quest as a songwriter and bring a message from his heart to encourage others.
RAYMOND's HEART
And just what is that message? "A life led by Christ is sweet success - a life lived without Him is emptiness.
I want to reach people who are seeking answers or are discouraged and remind them that God loves them so
incredibly much. Not only has He poured out His love on us through His Son Jesus, he has gifted each of us
in our own unique way. I allowed lies to get in the way of truth for a long time, but not anymore. God's plan
for each of us is one of a kind. He can use our past to impact the future...if we let Him."
By the grace of God, Raymond stands as a testimony of Jesus Christ and the work He can accomplish in a
life yielded to His wonderful plan.
